 Spanish Club



Mission:

The Spanish Club of Temple High School promotes an understanding of international current events and Hispanic cultural differences among the student body. The club seeks to support and encourage Hispanic students in the process of assimilation to the educational system and culture of the United States. Non-Hispanic students are able to immerse themselves in the Spanish culture and language. 


Activities:


    
The theme of the Spanish Club for 2009-2010 is reaching Spanish Fluency with Music. In each club meeting, Spanish will be practiced with Spanish tracks and music styles that will include mambo, flamenco, merengue, and salsa. Spanish dances salsa, merengue, bachata, and cumbĂ­a will be introduced.

Discuss events in Latin America that impact Hispanic countries and Hispanic communities in the United States.

Hispanic Food Preparation that can be done in class

Visuals to coincide with important Holidays in the United States

Labor Day
Halloween
Thanksgiving
Christmas
New Year
